Diedra
Founded in 1997, Diedra is one of Croatia’s pioneering animation studios, with over 500 minutes of produced animated content across short films, series, and feature projects. The studio’s short films have been screened at more than 150 international festivals and have received awards in Croatia and abroad.
Diedra has collaborated with partners such as Zagreb Film, Animafest Zagreb, Melusine Productions (Luxembourg), and Loop (UAE), and works closely with higher education institutions in Zagreb through mentorship and internships.
Since 2010, the studio has been developing original commercial projects, including the internationally distributed feature film Cricket & Antoinette, screened worldwide, as well as new episodes of the iconic Professor Balthazar. Diedra continues to build international partnerships, connecting creative professionals and delivering high-quality animated content.
Our Team
Dino Krpan
Director
Dino Krpan graduated in Product Design from the University of Zagreb (1995) and transitioned from digital media into animation. He has produced eight award-winning animated shorts screened at over 140 festivals and contributed to 15 additional projects. He is an Associate Professor at VERN’ University in Zagreb. His most notable work is producing Cricket & Antoinette (2023), the first Croatian 3D animated feature, and he is currently executive producer and animator on the new Professor Balthazar series.
Jadranka Soviček Krpan
Art Director
Jadranka Soviček Krpan holds a Master’s degree in Product Design from Zagreb University and works across product design, interior design, animation, and production. . As co-founder of Diedra, she has worked extensively in art direction and production design for animated films, including Cvrčak i mravica (Cricket & Antoinette, 2023), where she contributed to the visual development and artistic direction of the project.
In addition to film work, she has developed award-winning product designs and launched her own Croatian design brand, designdotdotdot.
Vjeran Šalamon
Vjeran Šalamon is a composer and sound designer who has worked on over 70 film projects, including feature animation such as Cricket & Antoinette (2023). His work spans film, theatre, and multimedia exhibitions, including the Croatian pavilion at EXPO 2005 in Japan. He has received several international awards and nominations for his score for Landscape Zero (2020).
Siniša Mataić
Siniša Mataić graduated in Animation and New Media from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb (2010) and specialized in 3D character animation in Denmark. He has completed over 150 minutes of animation as lead and character animator. His credits include lead animator on Cricket & Antoinette (2023), Professor Balthazar (2019–2025), and The Wingfeather Saga (2022–). He has received multiple awards, including recognition at TAAF and the Golden Arena for visual effects.
Mia Murat
Mia Murat holds a Master’s degree in Animated Film from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She works as an animator and character designer on national and international projects, including Professor Balthazar (2021–2024) and Marona’s Fantastic Tale (2018). Alongside her animation work, she has directed short films and created commissioned projects, combining artistic and production expertise.
