“Tide” is a surreal story about two characters striving to share a cup of tea together, despite all the misfortunes that befall them along the way.
The story functions as a metaphor both for the human need for another person and the persistence with which we seek closeness, and for the urge to subjugate nature, even at the cost of our own self‑destruction.
